The program
What the Generative AI Virtual Internship Program is
The Generative AI Virtual Internship Program at PrimrIQ is about shipping LLM features that hold up, not demos. Your briefs are set inside a legal-tech product: a tested prompt library, a RAG system that answers questions from contracts, a support chatbot that knows when to escalate, and a text-to-SQL interface.
The final briefs go further, with a multi-step agent that monitors regulatory updates and a red-team exercise where you attack your own chatbot and fix what fails. A mentor reviews each submission for accuracy, cost and failure handling.

Do I need machine learning experience?
No. You need working Python. The program is about building with LLM APIs, not training models from scratch.
What will I actually build?
Briefs include a prompt library, a RAG system over legal documents, a support chatbot with escalation, a text-to-SQL tool and a multi-step agent.
Will I need to pay for API usage?
Some briefs call an LLM API. Ask your mentor before you start; they can point you to free and low-cost options.

How is this different from the AI / ML track?
Machine Learning covers training and evaluating models. Generative AI focuses on building products on top of LLMs: prompts, retrieval, agents and safety testing.
